Inclusion Advisor - Francis Barber PRU

Please Note: The application deadline for this job has now passed.

The Role

Inclusion Advisor
Teachers Pay Scale + T.L.R. 2(2) (£4,651)

Due to the retirement of the current postholder, a rare opportunity to work in a very special role of Inclusion Advisor at Francis Barber, has arisen. This role offers a fantastic opportunity for a career change for a senior leader. The successful candidate will be a highly experienced practitioner, keen to support senior leaders in schools and support parents and pupils in mainstream schools who are at risk of losing their school places.

Francis Barber is a large, friendly and inclusive PRU that prides itself on helping the young people it works with to achieve their full potential.  It has excellent relationships with secondary schools in the borough and the Inclusion Advisor is a key person in ensuring that such positive links are maintained. OFSTED rated the PRU as ‘good’ with ‘outstanding’ features in 2017, commenting that ‘For many, Francis Barber provides life-changing experiences’.

The Inclusion Advisor works with mainstream schools in Wandsworth to help them identify pupils at risk of exclusion and to consider strategies to enable the schools to be inclusive whilst managing the pupils’ challenging behaviours. The inclusion advisor attends Pastoral Support Plan (PSP) meetings for pupils at risk of permanent exclusion at the invitation of the school, and collects data, enabling them to monitor the borough-wide inclusion process. They may also support schools in sourcing an engaging external support and alternative provision for pupils.  In addition, they may work with PRU pupils who find it difficult to engage. The Inclusion Advisor also works closely with senior staff at the PRU to ensure information is shared in relation to dual registration and reintegration.

Francis Barber is a great place to work with great locations close to public transport links and is considerate of the wellbeing of staff and pupils.
