Due to the forthcoming maternity leave of the current Deputy Head teacher, Victoria Drive Primary Pupil Referral Unit wishes to appoint an Interim Deputy Head Teacher for one year from September 2021.

Victoria Drive is a warm, welcoming and inclusive Pupil Referral Unit that prides itself on the highly effective working partnership with Wandsworth Primary schools. It provides expert teaching and support to pupils who have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including Social, Emotional and Mental Health Difficulties (SEMHD). The core objective of the work is to sustain very low levels of exclusion by promoting the inclusion of pupils and strengthening schools’ capacity to respond to pupils’ needs.

Victoria Drive requires a Deputy Head Teacher with Leadership and SEND experience who has an expert knowledge of strategies for effective behaviour management, a deep understanding of developing a bespoke curriculum to meet the needs of children and who is skilled in the use of assessment and attainment data. The post holder will work in close partnership with the Head of Behaviour and Learning Support Service to take forward this well- established ‘Outstanding’ (Ofsted 1997, 2010, 2013,2017) provision through exemplary teaching and leadership skills.
