Intervenor - Linden Lodge School

The Role

Salary: Unqualified – Scale 1C, Point 2 - £17,148.22 (Actual)

Qualified - Scale 3 point 5 – 6 - £18,088.32 - £18,586.32 (Actual)

Hours: Full-Time (32.5 hours per week)

Working Pattern: Term Time Only (39 weeks)

Can you help a young person with a dual-sensory impairment reach their potential?

 

An opportunity to join our highly motivated and skilled team as an Intervenor has become available.

 

The post is based within the Alba Centre and involves working with students who have a dual sensory impairment/deafblindness. The Alba Centre is a specialist deafblind provision within Linden Lodge School that offers comprehensive education to children and young people from age 2-19. 

 

Intervenors provide information that a student with deafblindness is unable to gather on his/her own. This can include a range of approaches such as direct hands-on support, advocacy and educating others around the school about the needs of a learner with deafblindness.

 

This is an opportunity for someone who is passionate about transforming the lives of young people with deafblindness, promoting their independence and helping them develop key skills for when they transition to adult life. The postholder will have a desire to develop their career within a Special School setting and will be working within an experienced team of colleagues committed to providing high quality support and education to the children and young people within the department.

 

Linden Lodge School is a leading provider of education for visually-impaired children and young people aged 2 – 19 years. We have an impressive three acre campus in Wimbledon offering fabulous indoor and outdoor innovative facilities to support teaching and learning.

 

Candidates must possess a qualification as an intervenor OR be willing to undertake this qualification.
