Judo Coach - Ernest Bevin College

The Role

 

Salary Scale for 6 hours a week

£17.58 - £25.70 per hour based on experience (Unqualified Teacher Rate)

 

Competitions on weekends where required

£114.04 - £166.74 per day
 

Required April 2020

 

The role of the Judo Coach at Ernest Bevin College is a part-time position working initially 6 hours per week at the college with the opportunity to be involved further in weekend tournaments.

 

The coach would be a highly motivated Judo enthusiast who will work closely with the young people to develop not only Judo performance but also the Judo values which are very similar to our college values especially the values of tolerance, respect and resilience.

 

A British Judo Level 2 Coaching Award or its equivalent is preferable, and the coach would run judo and strength and conditioning sessions before and after college. They would also be expected to work with the coaches of our successful community club which is a pathway for our students to progress to. The successful coach would also be required to attend weekend competitions and training camps nationally and occasionally internationally.

 

The coach would liaise with the teacher in charge of Judo, to develop, plan and administer the required consent forms and risk assessments for travelling to events.

 

Ernest Bevin College is an 11-19 boys’ school with 1250 on roll. We have a mixed sixth form of 300 students based in state of the art buildings with good transport links.

 

We are an Elite Sports College competing at national and international level in a range of sports. We have full time coaches for volleyball, judo and table tennis and fantastic sports facilities including a swimming pool and fitness studio. These facilities are extensively used by students and staff free of charge.

 

We have a Combined Cadet Force (CCF) and the Royal Marines working with us on site, and we have recently formed a Cricket Academy in partnership with Twenty20 Community Cricket.
