32.5 per week (Hours 8.30 a.m.– 4.00 p.m. Monday to Friday)
Term time only- to include 5 Inset Days
Permanent Post – start date – ASAP
We are looking for a full time, enthusiastic, confident and caring person to join our Learning Mentor team to support with targeted children throughout our school.
You will need:
- To have the enthusiasm and experience to actively support and nurture children across the school. (An interest in P.E/Sports would be an advantage but not essential).
- Experience with supporting children with special educational needs (SEN) and SEMH needs, providing tailored provision and adapting resources to help them fully engage in their education.
- To be passionate about Inclusion and support children academic, social, and emotional development, helping them overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.
- To have a proven track record of strong behaviour management.
- To work alongside all staff to provide flexible, proactive support for vulnerable children and their families to promote achievement and wellbeing.
- be able to show initiative, flexibility and inspire and motive others, ‘thinking outside the box’ when necessary
- To be an excellent communicator and team player
- To engage and support individual children in order to reduce exclusions, increase attendance and raise attainment by working to remove barriers to learning.
- To work closely and collaboratively with all staff to share insights about the young person’s needs and develop effective strategies and progress.
- To address the needs of different children who require support and to raise learning participation and access to the curriculum
- To work with a range of external networks and partnerships to enhance learning opportunities and provide a positive learning experience for children as they move through our school
- To provide training, advice, support and guidance to parents as appropriate
- To be a great problem solver, active listener, showing empathy and patience
