Leisure Assistant/Lifeguard (Teddington)

The Role

Leisure Assistant (Lifeguard), Part-time 22.5 hrs
Teddington Pools & Fitness Centre, TW11 8EZ
Actual starting salary £14,020pa

Where you’ll be working
You’ll join our lifeguarding team at Teddington Pools & Fitness Centre, TW11 8EZ

Facilities here include main and learner pools, fitness suite, spin studio, hydrotherapy pool and studio space.

The Centre is open 7 days a week from 6.30am to 10pm.

What you’ll be doing
Providing a professional and friendly approach to pool safety will be your main objective. Making sure that all customers are kept in a safe and secure environment, delivering great customer service and ensuring facilities are clean, safe and staffed, so that every customer has a great experience.

What we’ll need from you
You must be IQL/RLSS National Pool Lifeguard qualified for this role.  A first aid qualification and some experience would also be very desirable. Good communication and organisational skills are essential for this role. 

You’ll also need a good knowledge of Health & Safety and an understanding of Diversity and Equality in employment and provision of a service. 

You’ll be expected to work the following rolling shift pattern, averaging 22.5 hours per week. Shifts over 4 hours include an unpaid break. Please make sure you can commit to working these hours before you apply, as the shifts cannot be altered.

Week 1
Mon: 1.00pm-7.15pm (5hrs30mins plus 45min break)
Tue: 1.20pm to 10.00pm (8hrs plus 40min break)
Wed: Off
Thu: 6.00am to 12.40pm (6hrs plus 40min break)
Fri: Off
Sat: 3.30pm to 8.30pm (4hrs45mins plus 15min break)
Sun: 4.00pm to 9.00pm (4hrs45mins plus 15min break)

Week 2
Mon: 4.00pm to 8.00pm (4hrs)
Tue: Off
Wed: 4.00pm to 10.15pm (5hrs30mins plus 45mins break)
Thu:  2.00pm to 7.20pm (5hrs plus 20min break)
Fri: 8.00am to 3.40pm (7hrs plus 40min break)
Sat: Off
Sun: Off

Week 3
Mon: 6.00am to 1.40pm (7hrs plus 40min break)
Tue: Off
Wed: 6.00pm to 10.30pm (4hrs15mins plus 15min break)
Thu: Off
Fri: Off
Sat: 5.15pm to 8.30pm (3hrs15mins)
Sun: 1.20pm to 9.00pm (7hrs plus 40min break)

Week 4
Mon: Off
Tue: 3.00pm to 7.00pm (4hrs)
Wed: 9.20am to 5pm (7hrs plus 40min break)
Thu: Off
Fri: 9.40am to 5.20pm (7hrs plus 40min break)
Sat: Off
Sun: Off

You will need your own National Insurance Number (NINO) to be employed by us.  If you are aged 16 years or older and have not been issued with a NINO yet, please contact HMRC or apply for one asap.

What we can offer you: Starting salary of £14,020pa for 22.5hrs
Salary progression range is £14,020 to £16,593pa
