Objective of role
Wandsworth and Richmond Councils have an exciting opportunity within their Local Land Charges Team, we are recruiting a Local Land Charges Spatial Data Officer.
This Officer will ensure the Councils continue to deliver an excellent Local Land Charges Service by the accurate creation and maintenance of a wide range of spatial data relevant for the Local Land Charges service. You will also provide training and support on the use of GIS within the Team and Service.
About the role
The Officer will be responsible for applying best GIS practice to the collation, analysis and creation of spatial and address related data, ensuring that the spatial data sets are complete by working with data owners to ensure good quality data is available for use by the Local Land Charges Officers.
You will also review and deliver improvements to the quality and format of a wide range of statutory LLC and related spatial datasets and associated metadata.
As part of the HM Land Registry project you will assist in the data transfer and data cleansing tasks to ensure the key milestones and project outcomes are met.
Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Expertise-Proven working knowledge of MapInfo (v12+) or QGIS with Microsoft Excel, and ideally experience with additional GI systems.
- High‑Quality Data Output and Accuracy- Attention to detail with the ability to produce high‑specification, accurate outputs.
- Time Management and Workload Prioritisation- Working effectively to meet deadlines and manage competing and changing priorities.
- Proactive Data Quality and Process Improvement- Reviewing spatial datasets, identifying issues, and proposing improvements to data and processes
