Our expanding therapy team is seeking an Occupational Therapy Assistant to support and work closely with our Occupational therapy team.
Our ideal candidate will have experience working alongside therapists supporting children and young people with a range of physical and sensory needs within a SEN environment. The candidate will be working with both therapists and the students so will need to be able to communicate effectively with both groups.
You will be joining an integrated team which includes both therapists and education staff to support you within your role. Family partnership working is also a central feature of the provision.
The children and young people within the school have a range of sensory impairments, including deaf-blindness and additional needs including physical disability, and complex medical needs. This is an opportunity for someone who is passionate about transforming young peoples’ lives, promoting independence and has a desire to develop their career in a Special School setting.
To support flexibility of working, 10 days annual leave can also be taken within term time, yet the days would be worked back during the holidays.
There is the potential for the right candidate to be supported to become a fully qualified Occupational Therapist via an apprenticeship route.
