Organisational Development Lead

Please Note: The application deadline for this job has now passed.

The Role

Do you have great skills and experience in Organisational Development?

Can you help ensure Richmond and Wandsworth Councils are known as an employer of choice?

If yes, we have the perfect role for you!

Our Organisational Development team is looking to recruit an experienced Organisational Development (OD) professional to play a central role in achieving positive outcomes for Richmond and Wandsworth Councils and all our staff!

About us

This is an exciting period for OD in the Shared Staffing Arrangement that supports the Councils.  As we move towards the end of the COVID-19 pandemic, OD is working in collaboration with staff to develop and introduce a new agile model of working that combines all the benefits of working from Council sites with the best of home-working and being out in our communities.  This will involve reinventing how we communicate, how we support new staff and the diversity of needs of existing staff and how we help staff to develop strong networks across the organisation, among lots of other areas.  We also want to learn lessons from the pandemic and will feed these into a review of our Values and Behaviours and to develop a competency framework.

We are also introducing a structured approach to ‘employee voice’ and are analysing the results of our first set of engagement to ensure the organisation is well-positioned as an ‘employer of choice’.

All this is alongside our other OD work supporting apprenticeships, our graduate programme and wider staff development, and ongoing work to ensure that Richmond and Wandsworth Councils are a great place to work.

About the role

You’ll play a key role in taking this work forward, particularly introducing measures to ensure that all staff feel the value and purpose of their work and are focused on supporting the organisation to achieve its overarching objectives, all in the new context of agile working.

The role also has a strong emphasis on work to support staff development and progression and you will have responsibility for engaging with managers, staff and training providers to encourage the use of apprenticeships in the Councils, as well as providing HR support to the graduate scheme.  You will also lead on developing new approaches to support career development. Expect to be busy!

To be shortlisted to interview for this position your CV and personal statement (no longer than two sides of A4) will clearly evidence how you meet the criteria listed within the Job Profile (see attached at the bottom of the advert).
