Partnership Coordinator (CDOP) - Kingston & Richmond Safeguarding Children Partnership

The Role

Partnership Co-ordinator required for the Child Death Review Process (CDOP) for Kingston & Richmond Safeguarding Partnership. The London Borough of Richmond upon Thames presents a unique opportunity to be part of a team who work together to help keep local children safe.


Kingston & Richmond Safeguarding Children Partnership (KRSCP) is looking for a member of staff to work part time 18 hours per week on a fixed term basis to support the Child Death Review processes. The fixed term contract is for the period of 12 months. Our organisation works towards the statutory guidance outlined in Chapter 5 Working Together to safeguard Children,2018 and the statutory guidance for child death Statutory Guidance for Child Death Reviews.

Partnership Co-ordinator (CDOP) will be an integral part of the process to keep required to coordinate local child death review process.

The role will involve:

  • Receiving notification of the deaths of children and young people aged under 18 years in Kingston & Richmond, gathering and sharing relevant information, and supporting the necessary processes to complete the review of their deaths.
  • Reviews conducted are intended to identify any modifiable factors in relation to child deaths, make recommendations, and promote the learning in order to prevent future child deaths. 

The Partnership Co-ordinator (CDOP) will be required to:

  • Provide policy and business support to the Designated Paediatrician for child deaths including accurate recording of child death information via e-CDOP.
  • Responsibility for the collection and submission of relevant reports about individual children to the South West London Child Death Overview Panel (CDOP).
  • Liaise with families to share information and support their contribution to the child death review process.
  • Support the collection and analysis of performance data and insight about local multi-agency safeguarding practice, including accurate recording of child death information via e-CDOP.
  • Inform the learning and development programme to ensure that it is relevant and responsive to the needs of the workforce, particularly in relation to learning from child death reviews.

The KRSCP works across both boroughs, providing training, policy and procedural support, quality assurance and coordination of work to keep children safe. Currently team members are working from home due to the ongoing Covid restrictions, should this change we have office areas in both local authorities and at times there may be travel to both Richmond & Kingston Council/ hospital for meetings.

We recognise the importance of a good balance between work and home life so we do everything we can to accommodate flexible working including, working from home, part-time hours, and other arrangements.
