Payroll Coordinator
The Role
An opportunity for a Payroll Coordinator to join the Payroll team based at Wandsworth Town Hall. As Payroll Coordinator, you will work in a team of 5, consisting of 4 Payroll Coordinators and a Team Leader.
Your tasks will include (but will not be limited to) inputting and checking of payroll data, quality control of payroll data. You will enjoy liaising with departmental managers and employees, resolving their queries, as well as advising on legislative and contractual matters.
The ideal candidate will have experience of:
- Processing high volume payrolls, preferably on iTrent payroll software.
- Knowledge of current legislation is important, as is the ability to carry out manual calculations of PAYE, NI and Student Loans.
- Possess excellent written communication skills.
- Previous payroll experience in a Local Authority (including Schools payrolls) environment will be an advantage.
- The candidate will also have the ability to produce accurate work within payroll deadlines.
- Experience of Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Excel (including formula) and Word.
- Previous payroll experience in a Local Authority (including Schools payrolls) environment will be an advantage.
The post reports into the Payroll Team Leader. The Payroll team run a total of 12 payrolls, thereby offering the opportunity to train and acquire skills on different payroll groups.
