Payroll Team Leader
The Role
An opportunity has arisen to join the Payroll team based at Wandsworth Town Hall. As Payroll Team Leader, you will be responsible for a team of +/- 4 Payroll Coordinators. Your tasks will include (but will not be limited to) inputting, checking and bringing allocated Payrolls to completion, quality control of payroll data, training, supervision and leadership of the Payroll Coordinators, as well as conducting appraisals and setting objectives for team members. You will enjoy liaising with departmental managers and employees, resolving their queries, as well as advising on legislative and contractual matters.
The ideal candidate will have experience in processing high volume payrolls, preferably on iTrent payroll software. Knowledge of current legislation is important, as is the ability to carry out manual calculations of PAYE, NI and Student Loans. Previous payroll experience in a Local Authority environment and the Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals Foundation degree (or equivalent) will be an advantage..
The post reports into the Payroll Manager.
The Payroll team run a total of 12 payrolls, thereby offering the opportunity to train and acquire skills on different payroll groups.
