Performance and Projects Manager

You will play a strategic role in driving up performance with the Highways, Operations and Street Scene division of the Environment Department. Reporting directly to the Deputy Director, you will have responsibility for managing and planning projects for a range of diverse business units within the division.

 

You should have a qualification or relevant experience in project management and be able to utilise this to maximise performance outputs. You will need be to show an innovative approach to problem solving and research and implement the best industry standard and  performance management techniques that are currently being used. You will need to carry out risk assessments and measure these against expected outcomes, and implement key objectives. You will also need to set and monitor key milestones for each business unit.

 

Highways and Operations play a key role in delivering important services to Council residents, including building works, road maintenance, inspection and enforcement , network management and other internal support teams. This is a key role is ensuring these services are delivered as efficiently as possible, as “green” as possible, and all delivered within an increasingly difficult financial setting. The successful candidate will be given the flexibility to set their own key objectives, within the umbrella of improving performance, and make a positive contribution to the wider sustainable environmental agenda.
