For starting as soon as possible in the autumn term, we are looking for an outstanding upper brass teacher to take up a day of teaching (5 hours approx.) in this vibrant and successful music department. The applicant would be joining a team of 20 peripatetic staff and a brass department with both a lower brass teacher and a trumpet specialist. This role would therefore be ideal for a first study French horn player that could teach beginner and intermediate trumpet. The school has a strong musical ethos and there is strong uptake at GCSE and A Level and a broad and exciting extra-curricular programme. There is scope for the right applicant to also play a role leading groups/ensembles depending upon experience. There is a music administrator who will deal with timetables and payment and there are 31 weeks of lessons scheduled throughout the academic year.

Applicants will have:

• A Music Degree / Diploma or relevant experience
• Experience of teaching beginner instrumentalists to Grade 8 standard and beyond
• Experience of preparing students for examinations
• A desire to work as part of an enthusiastic team and be actively involved in the wider musical life of the school
