Peripatetic Music Instructor (Piano) - Graveney School

The Role

Approx 4 Hours Per Week

For starting as soon as possible in the autumn term, we are looking for an outstanding piano teacher to take up a short day of teaching (3-4 hours approx.) in this vibrant and successful music department. The applicant would be joining a team of 20 peripatetic staff with five other piano-teaching staff. The school has a strong musical ethos and there is enthusiastic uptake at GCSE and A Level and a broad and exciting extra-curricular programme. It would be advantageous for applicants to also be skilled accompanists. There is a music administrator who will deal with timetables and payment and there are 31 weeks of lessons scheduled throughout the academic year.

The successful candidate would be required to start as soon as possible in the autumn term, ideally mid-September.

Applicants will have:

  • A Music Degree / Diploma or relevant experience
  • Experience of teaching beginner instrumentalists to Grade 8 standard and beyond
  • Experience of preparing students for examinations
  • Experience as an accompanist
  • A desire to work as part of an enthusiastic team and be actively involved in the wider musical life of the school
