Planner (Development Management)

The Role

We have new opportunities for qualified Planning Officers to  join our Development Management teams at Wandsworth Borough Council.

The planning service is a busy forward-looking and proactive department We have a number of vacancies for planners in both development management teams covering the West and East of the borough including the areas of Wandsworth Town, Battersea, Putney, Tooting, Roehampton and Balham.  We are looking for planners with a positive attitude towards offering a high quality service for sustainable change and growth for our communities and historic built environments, and a commitment to excellence in standards of design and place making.

We want to hear from planning officers who are enthusiastic, well organised and self-motivated in their approach to work and who want the opportunity to work as part of busy, diverse and interesting inner London borough, working on a range of planning applications, pre-application enquiries and appeals.  

You could be recently qualified with an RTPI recognised qualification looking for your first job in planning or you may be looking to build on your existing experience and deal with the challenges and opportunities of a high performing inner London planning authority. 

Working for Wandsworth will offer you opportunities to learn and to deal with larger and more complex applications on smaller sites for housing, commercial and community developments, working alongside and with the guidance of our experienced team of planning officers and others in the Directorate.  We also offer support and opportunity for internal and external training and towards attaining membership of RTPI.
