The Role

Are you looking for a challenging role that will see you work across services? Could you programme manage ambitious climate change strategies to deliver their goals? Do you enjoy working in a fast-paced environment where you can develop policy and see outcomes achieved?

We are looking to recruit a policy and programme lead (climate change) to help us achieve our goal of being carbon neutral by 2030 and zero carbon by 2050. We need an individual who can both deliver detailed policy analysis and development and can work with and challenge services to deliver change and achieve deadlines. As this is a high-profile area we need someone who has experience of working with senior officers, councillors and a range of stakeholders. Someone who can work with minimal supervision who can juggle tasks and achieve deadlines.

It will be a challenging, varied role, but you will get to see your work have a real impact for the residents of Richmond and Wandsworth. You will get experience in this new and exciting area of policy and gain an insight into working across two councils.

You will be part of a supportive, forward looking, Policy and Review Team who deliver policy and transformation across Richmond and Wandsworth Councils. We are outcome focussed and believe in and support flexible working. We are also committed to supporting personal and career development.

In return, we can offer you working arrangements that will enhance your work-life balance. These include compressed hours, home working (dependent on service need), part-time working, annualised hours and a generous holiday allowance of 31 days plus bank holidays.

In addition, we offer a range of staff benefits such as membership of the Local Government contributory pension scheme, childcare vouchers, new technology scheme, interest-free loans on annual travel cards, discounts at many leisure activities, restaurants, shops, and other establishments.
