Hybrid Working: 2 days office based and 3 days home working. One of the days will be Wednesdays due to team meetings.

You can expect the biggest dance festival this city has ever seen, a mass choral spectacular and a music festival showcasing great artists from the borough, amongst many other things.

About the role 

Wandsworth’s London Borough of Culture year starts in April 2025. When joining us, you will manage the administration of an exciting programme of activity in collaboration and partnership with communities, residents and the brilliant arts and culture sector.

You will be the engine room of the team enabling them to function effectively and meet the requirements of the programme, by making sure that you provide high quality response and engagement with key stakeholders. With guidance from your manager, you will implement and maintain new processes for the team and provide feedback when necessary to adapt existing processes. 

As an agile and experienced professional, your support will be crucial to the success of the overall programme – you will be our behind the scenes wonder! You will know which stakeholders needs to be engaged and exactly when to allow the team to concentrate on delivering the details of the programme.

Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience in a similar role providing administrative support with a track record of working with Microsoft Office packages.
  • The ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment working with a range of project leads. 
  • Political sensitivity with the ability to brief participants and engage with stakeholders including senior managers and councillors. 
  • Excellent minute taking skills paired with accuracy and sense check.
  • Confidence in dealing with finances including making payments and getting new suppliers set up on our system.
