Programmer (Arts Development)

Based at Orleans House Gallery on Twickenham Riverside, we bring thought-provoking art to the borough. We cultivate a network of individuals, organisations and programmes that nourishes the arts, local organisations and communities.

You will 

  • Lead programmes that encourage the development of the arts sector within the borough.
  • Develop a multi-partner festival offering new ways of looking at issues of importance to the Borough’s communities through the arts.
  • Develop a series of programmes strengthening the dance sector, supporting visual artists practising within the borough, and identifying how we can better support Richmond’s contemporary music scene.   
  • Manage partnerships and co-commissioning arrangements and build relationships with cultural organisation in the borough.  
  • Ensure services are communicated well to the relevant audiences and stakeholders. 
  • Contribute to strategic initiatives and policies which increase the effectiveness of our services. 
  • Line-manage two Arts Officers and, with fellow Programmers, lead the wider team of Arts Officers, freelancers, and volunteers

About you

  • You have experience of developing and delivering public-facing creative programmes including festivals and multidisciplinary programmes.  
  • You enjoy building relationships with cultural organisations and providing strategic support. 
  • You can forward plan and manage risk.  
  • You have a commitment to engaging and meeting the needs of diverse audiences.
  • You have experience of managing live events.
  • You manage and lead teams successfully in fast-moving dynamic environments.
