Project Controller

Please Note: The application deadline for this job has now passed.

About Us

The Major Works Section is seeking a suitably qualified building professional who wishes to develop their already sound technical skills within a small professional team. We have two permanent positions available.

The successful applicant will be joining an established team which has an exceptional record of maintaining and improving the Councils housing stock whilst achieving a high level of resident satisfaction using both traditional and non-traditional procurement routes.

The role of Project Controller entails responsibility from inception through to completion for a broad range of projects managing a multi-disciplinary team of external consultants. The section manages projects on the full range of the Councils stock, ranging from Victorian street properties through to high rise housing estates.

You will hold a relevant qualification with experience of supervising a broad range of building/construction projects with a particular emphasis on high rise buildings and the problems found with this type of construction.

The Housing & Regeneration Department has an ambitious new build programme which the Major Works Section will be assisting the Regeneration Team in achieving.

This position is integral to the continuing success of the Housing & Regeneration Department during the current period of dynamic change, so presents an exciting opportunity for professional development.

We are looking to recruit to one permanent and one fixed term role, please specify in your supporting statement which role you are interested in.

The position offers working arrangements that can contribute to a healthy work-life balance. These can include compressed hours, flexitime, home working (dependent on service need), and a generous holiday allowance of 32 days plus bank holidays. In addition, we offer a range of staff benefits such as membership of the Local Government contributory pension scheme, childcare vouchers, new technology scheme, interest-free loans on annual travel cards, discounts at many leisure activities, restaurants, shops, and other establishments. A wide range of developmental/training opportunities are also offered.

Richmond and Wandsworth are currently reviewing our pay, reward, and benefits framework, in partnership with Trade Union colleagues. We are developing different options that make sure we have a fair and transparent system in place.
