Quality Assurance Support Officer

The Role

An exciting fixed term opportunity has arisen to play a key role in increasing the number of residents accessing accredited and non accredited courses delivered directly by the service in priority subject areas.

Specialising in ESOL, English, maths and related employability provision, you will pro-actively establish and develop courses from identified learning centres, as well as supporting community based organisations as required. You will also link with internal marketing processes to ensure that recruitment targets are met.

Additionally you will provide expert support for the delivery, assessment and quality assurance processes for the accredited and non-accredited courses delivered within Lifelong Learning; and ensure that learner progress tracking data is accurate and up to date, monitor teaching and ensure that the quality of teaching and record keeping is of a standard that enhances learning and encourages learners to achieve. You will line manage a maximum of 8 sessional teaching staff working across direct delivery sites so line management experience is essential.

You will be required to work within a highly structured quality assurance framework, managing accredited and non-accredited learning programmes and will ensure conformance to internal and external requirements.

The post is part of the Lifelong Learning team in Children’s Services. Lifelong Learning is responsible for a wide range of activities and courses across the borough. This includes the provision of apprenticeships at a range of levels; work experience for children and young people as well as adults; and community learning opportunities. Adults across the borough can access a wide range of accredited learning opportunities including  maths, English and ESOL.  An extensive number of short courses are available to support employability skills for both employed and unemployed adults. 

Please note this is a fixed term role to 31st July 2019.
