The Role

36 hours per week
Term Time Only – 39 Weeks per year
Required: September 2019 (Earlier start dates will be considered depending upon individual circumstances)

Linden Lodge School is a leading provider of education for visually-impaired children and young people aged 2 – 19 years. We are constantly building and growing our provision and an opportunity to join our skilled and highly motivated team as a Residential Keyworker – Independent Living has become available. This is an opportunity for someone who is passionate about transforming young peoples’ lives, promoting independence and has a desire to develop their career in a residential school setting. You'll be working in a small team of colleagues committed to providing high quality support and education.

This is an exciting time to join the school. In our recent OFSTED of the residential department, Leadership and Management was judged “outstanding” (January 2019) where “leaders’ expert knowledge and steadfast commitment to children have inspired them to continue their own professional journeys”. We have an impressive three acre campus in Wimbledon offering fabulous indoor and outdoor innovative facilities to support teaching and learning.

As a school, we have created a flexible independent living flat that meets visually impaired young people's needs and provides the highest quality of care. The young people have individual bedrooms and shared communal areas. Our keyworkers support young people with vision impairment to develop as much independence as possible in their daily lives. Everything you do will enable young people to develop self-esteem, have choices about their own lives and develop the self-help and independent life-skills that will prepare them for adult life.

Please note, the postholder will required to possess a Diploma in Residential Childcare or an equivalent e.g. NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young People and some experience working with children with SEND needs is an essential for this role.

• A positive and supportive team within Richley House
• Comprehensive induction programme upon joining
• A staff wellbeing programme which includes:
