Residential Shift Worker - Falcon Grove Family Centre

Our Children’s Service are looking to recruit a part time (18 hours per week) permanent Residential shift worker to join our Falcon Grove Family Centre team and play a central role in achieving positive outcomes for children!

What does the team do?

Falcon Grove Family Centre aims to provide a safe and supportive environment for children and their parents who are undergoing a parenting assessment. We want to enable parents to understand the challenges they face in order for them to make the necessary changes to parent their children safely.  We aim to work collaboratively with families and professionals to ensure the best possible outcome for the children we are working with.

Falcon Grove Family Centre is a residential setting where families live for approximately 3 months whilst undertaking an in-depth parenting assessment with our service. Our assessments are usually done as part of court proceedings (or pre-proceedings) and are carried out by our team of assessment workers and social workers. We provide a variety of interventions and assessment techniques in order to fully understand the needs of our families.

What will your role be?

The Residential Shift worker role is a part time one, that requires you to cover the overnight management of the building and families who are staying here. You work on average 18 hours per week (this is part of a pre-planned 6 week rolling rota that requires between 2&3 sleep-in shifts per week). You would be responsible for locking up the building and providing any support necessary to families in case of any emergencies overnight. You would carry out observations with families alongside the support of the Family Assessment Workers.

  • Experience of working with vulnerable children and families
  • Excellent written English skills
  • An ability to manage emergencies
  • Experience and willingness to work autonomously
  • Have good risk assessment skills
