Resourcing and Recruitment Team Manager

Please Note: The application deadline for this job has now passed.

The Role

Resourcing and Recruitment Team Manager

  • Do you have excellent people management skills that can motivate and develop a high performing team?
  • Can you develop effective relationships to improve the recruitment service offered to our customers?

If so, we would love to hear from you.

We have worked hard over the last year to shape an improved recruitment offer to our managers – we have introduced an award-winning recruitment platform to automate and simplify the recruitment process – allowing us to spend more time working directly with our managers to understand the key challenges within a local authority setting impacting recruitment and retention.

In this newly created role, supported by the Strategic Resourcing and Talent Acquisition Manager you will manage a team of Resourcing Advisors and Resourcing Assistants whilst leading on our service improvement, ensuring standard operating procedures are developed and implemented for the delivery of the service.  In summary, you will be responsible to make sure that our recruitment service is safe, effective and delivers a proactive service to our managers.

The role is both strategic and process driven and will require an excellent understanding of recruitment and selection methods, recruitment compliance/audit procedures, data analytics and customer service best practices.

You will have proven significant hands-on recruitment and resourcing experience within a complex in-house recruitment environment, and a clear understanding of the candidate experience, labour market influences, advertising, employee branding and onboarding.

You’ll need:

  • Experience in managing people to meet their potential.
  • Excellent understanding of the strategic context of recruitment and selection within a complex organisation.
  • Expert knowledge of employment legislation law and regulations relating to recruitment and selection
  • Good knowledge of using applicant technology or/and HR software data to drive business improvements.
  • Good working knowledge of terms and conditions of employment and understanding of policies and procedures for authenticating or sponsoring an individual’s eligibility and right to work in the UK.
  • Experience of working with hiring managers to understand their recruitment needs for their areas and facilitating desired solutions.
  • Good experience of risk assessment and creation of solutions to mitigate risk.

This is an opportunity to make a real positive difference in an organisation that makes an impact on half a million Londoners every day.

In return, we can offer you working arrangements that will enhance your work-life balance.  These include compressed hours, flexible working arrangements and a generous holiday allowance of 31 days plus bank holidays.  In addition, we offer a range of staff benefits such as membership of the Local Government contributory pension scheme, childcare vouchers, new technology scheme, interest-free loans on annual travel cards, discounts at many leisure activities, restaurants, shops and other establishments. A wide range of developmental and training opportunities is also offered.
