Please Note: The application deadline for this job has now passed.

The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen at London Borough of Richmond and Wandsworth Borough Council with the introduction of 2 Rough Sleeper Tenancy Sustainment Support Worker roles.  We are seeking applicants who are passionate about providing the best level of service to vulnerable rough sleepers to join our busy, friendly, collaborative and specialised services.

We are looking for someone who is motivated and naturally caring in nature and who has an interest in supporting rough sleepers.  The successful candidate will join a service of colleagues who have diverse skill sets, experience and can provide a great resource of knowledge and can help imbed the Richmond and Wandsworth ways of working.

You will ideally have experience of supporting rough sleepers, but this is not essential.  Excellent communication and organisational skills will go a long way in this role ensuring that you provide the best level of support.  The service is very specialised as it is designed to meet the needs of each individual depending on their personal circumstances.  Lone working as well as part of a team is also required.

We recognise the importance of a good balance between work and home life so we do everything we can to accommodate flexible working including, working from home, compressed or part-time hours, term time only, job shares and other arrangements. Please just let us know in your application or at any stage throughout the process (and beyond) if these are options you’d like to explore. We also offer a generous holiday allowance of 39 paid days (pro rata) including bank holidays and a wide range of learning and development opportunities.

In addition, we offer a comprehensive range of staff benefits such as membership of the Local Government pension scheme, childcare vouchers, new technology scheme, interest-free loans on annual travel cards, discounts with many leisure activities, restaurants, shops and other establishments.
