Linden Lodge School is a leading provider of education for visually-impaired children and young people aged 2 – 19 years. We are constantly building and growing our provision and an opportunity to join our highly motivated and skilled team as a Teaching Assistant have become available.
This is an opportunity for someone who is passionate about transforming young peoples’ lives, promoting independence and has a desire to develop their career in a Special School setting. You'll be working in a small team of colleagues committed to providing high quality support and education to the children and young people within the residential unit.
This is an exciting time to join the school. In our recent OFSTED of the residential department, Leadership and Management was judged “outstanding” (January 2019) where “leaders’ expert knowledge and steadfast commitment to children have inspired them to continue their own professional journeys”. We have an impressive three acre campus in Wimbledon offering fabulous indoor and outdoor innovative facilities to support teaching and learning.
We are looking for Teaching Assistants who are able to fulfil the following roles:
Teaching Assistant for pupils with complex medical needs and PMLD: This role includes supporting learning and developments programmes and personal care (Primary and Secondary).
Teaching Assistant – Early Years and Primary: This role includes supporting learning and developments programmes and personal care across departments with students aged 2 – 11 years old
Teaching Assistant – Secondary VI/Curriculum Support: This role includes supporting secondary aged visually impaired pupils to access the curriculum
Teaching Assistant – Braille and Vision Impairment: This role includes enabling Visually Impaired pupils to access the curriculum (Primary and Secondary)
Teaching Assistant – ASD: This role involves supporting pupils with ASD
You do not need to have previous experience as full training will be provided from our experienced team. You just need the drive and willingness to make a difference to the lives of the children and young people at the school.
