SEN Travel Assistance Deputy Manager

We are looking to recruit a Deputy Manager in the SEN travel assistance team to join our amazing Children’s Services and help play a central role in achieving positive outcomes for children in Wandsworth.

About the service

We are a demand led service, assisting eligible Wandsworth families with home to school travel. We have a new inhouse service coming on board for independent travel training.

This is an exciting time to join a highly motivated team, which is committed to achieving the visions set for Wandsworth Council.

About the role

As the Deputy Manager, you will report to the Education Finance Business Partner, and manage the day to day running of the service, including the rollout of the independent travel training service. This role provides an excellent opportunity to develop your people management skills, as you will be liaising with multiple stakeholders.

For this role, you will need to ideally have a background in working with Children with SEN needs and preferably experience in SEN Transport.

  • You will have a proactive approach and willingness to build effective relationships with our schools, ITT partners, Wandsworth families, other departmental teams, and key stakeholders across the organisation. 
  • The environment is fast-paced and demanding. The successful candidate will need to be a good communicator, well organised, have excellent written skills, be empathetic with a pragmatic approach to problem solving.
