SEND Lead Teacher – Academic Pathway - Linden Lodge School

Teachers Pay Scale (Inner London Pay Scale) with a TLR + SEN1 point (An additional SEN point is available to applicants with recognised Mandatory Qualifications)

Linden Lodge School is a leading provider of education for visually-impaired children and young people aged 2 – 19 years. As the Lead Teacher for the academic pathway, you will be an inspirational and outstanding teacher who promotes the highest levels of achievement for pupils following the National Curriculum working towards GCSE / BTEC qualifications.
The successful candidate needs to be an outstanding secondary teacher with experience of teaching pupils with SEN. You will lead on improving pedagogy and practice within the secondary subject-based curriculum. The prospective candidate should have experience of the National Curriculum and adapting it to meet the individual needs of pupils.
Using your enthusiasm and expertise you will work closely with subject specialists to lead develop and monitor the academic curriculum so as to maximise the achievement of students and ensure that they have access to a rich and fully accessible National Curriculum. You will also be responsible for planning Individual Provision Maps and building mainstream links to enable pupils to access a broader curriculum offer.
The successful candidate needs to be able to confidently and demonstrate our ability to meet the needs of our higher ability pupils and to do so through an innovative and impactful secondary subject based curriculum. The role of the Lead Teacher is crucial in developing the ethos of achievement within the Academic Curriculum, in harmony with the aims and ethos of the whole school.
The successful candidate must hold a qualification in Sensory impairment i.e. Vision impairment/Multi-sensory impairment/Hearing-impairment OR be willing to undertake the Mandatory qualification.
