Shaftesbury Park Primary School is an award-winning Rights Respecting School in Battersea. We are looking to appoint two dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistants to support named pupils with SEND, enabling them to access learning. They will play a key role in supporting the class teachers by supporting vulnerable pupils and be committed to putting the children’s wellbeing first. The successful candidate will help pupils feel safe, understood and ready to engage in learning. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who is patient, resilient and passionate about inclusive education.

You will:

• Support pupils with SEND in class and through small group or individual work
• Help children develop emotional regulation, confidence and positive learning behaviours
• Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO and pastoral team
• Support pupils to engage positively with learning and school routines
• Contribute to a calm, structured and nurturing environment

We are looking candidates who:

• Have experience supporting children with SEND (pupils who are neurodivergent and/or pupils with Down Syndrome)
• Are able to provide personal care
• Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils
• Are calm, patient and consistent in their approach
• Work well as part of a team supporting inclusive practice
• Are keen to develop their skills through training and professional learning
