Senior Educational Psychologist and Educational Psychologist Opportunities (Wandsworth Schools and Community Psychology Service)

Who we are

The Schools and Community Psychology Service (SCPS) is a team of Psychologists, Trainee Psychologists and Primary Mental Health Workers (PMHWs). As part of Wandsworth Council we are a key service contributing to work that aims to improve educational, social and mental health outcomes for children and young people living and being educated in Wandsworth.

We are advertising the following roles:

1. Full time permanent Educational Psychologist post open to qualified Educational Psychologists and Year 3 Trainee Educational Psychologists (due to qualify in 2023)

Closing: 11:59pm on Sunday 4th September 2022

  • This role will be split between working as a main grade EP with traded and statutory responsibilities (suggested time 0.4 FTE) and as a clinician with the Family Consultancy service at Wandsworth Access (suggested time 0.6 FTE). The Family Consultancy team is a multi-disciplinary team consisted of family therapists, clinical practitioners and EPs in Access.
  • It provides Tier 2 brief family interventions based on consultation and systemic family therapy, CBT, or other evidence based therapies, as required, as well as triage and assessment with a range of emotional, behavioural, mental health and neuro developmental presentations in 5-18 year olds. The Family Consultancy model was created by Educational Psychologists and and places a strengths based multi-disciplinary approach at its core.

2. Full time permanent Senior Educational Psychologist post open to qualified Educational Psychologists (we may be able to negotiate a part-time role (min 0.6 FTE) for a successful candidate)

Closing: 11:59pm on Monday 29th August 2022

  • The role will include a small amount of school work with both commissioned and statutory casework, supervision of qualified EPs and trainee EPs, various strategic roles within the team as well as the wider Children’s Services department.
