Richmond & Wandsworth Better Service Partnership is seeking a compassionate, strategic, and experienced professional to lead our refugee resettlement programme. As Senior Refugee Resettlement Coordinator, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring that individuals and families arriving through central government schemes receive a warm welcome and the support they need to thrive in their new community.

This is a unique opportunity to lead a small, dedicated team and work collaboratively with statutory services, voluntary and community sector partners, and national agencies to deliver high-quality, trauma-informed support to refugees and migrants.

About the role 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of Resettlement Coordinators, providing supervision, guidance, and support.
  • Oversee the delivery of coordinated welcome plans and integrated support for newly arrived refugees.
  • Ensure access to essential services including housing, healthcare, education, and employment support.
  • Develop and maintain referral pathways with VCS partners and statutory agencies.
  • Act as the point of escalation for complex cases and safeguarding concerns.
  • Monitor caseloads, ensure quality casework, and promote best practice across the team.
  • Liaise with the Home Office, Ready Homes, and other key stakeholders to ensure efficient communication and service delivery.
  • Track programme spending and maintain accurate financial records.
  • Champion continuous improvement and uphold the values of equality, dignity, and inclusion.

Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience

Who We’re Looking For

  • A degree-level qualification or equivalent professional experience.
  • Proven experience supporting vulnerable individuals and families, ideally in refugee or migration contexts.
  • Strong understanding of welfare entitlements, housing, education, and employment pathways.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed approaches and safeguarding protocols.
  • Experience managing teams and overseeing complex programmes.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to build strong partnerships with community organisations and statutory services.
