Senior Social Worker

The Role

Wandsworth and Richmond Councils Adult Services are recruiting a Senior Social Worker. The Senior Social Worker will be working within the Wandsworth Access Team. This is a very exciting time to join the team as we are currently going through a major re- design of our  service : the  aim is  to transform our front door service  by implementing a shift  away from  process - led intervention to a  more  dynamic -based practice model which places our clients at the very centre of all that we do. Our aim is to worker smarter, work efficiently and to work in genuine partnership with our clients, achieving the best possible outcomes.

This is an excellent opportunity to develop a career path into a management role there will be a thorough period of induction/training as well as regular support via supervision both formal and informal. Your responsibilities as a Senior Social worker will be to:

  • Assist with the day to day management of the team
  • Deputise for the Assistant Service Managers when required
  • To provide case management, guidance, support and expert advice to social care staff, students and partner staff as and when required, maintaining the highest level of professional service and ensuring that the assessment and provision of social care services is in accordance with the Care Act 2014 guidelines and Council’s policies
  • To undertake the supervision of staff
  • To provide operational and motivational leadership of staff, promoting a good working environment with the primary aim of delivering high quality services.
  •  As a Senior Social worker you will mainly be involved in the day to day to management of the team – very occasionally you may be required to hold a case.
