Senior Social Worker

The Role

The Community Advice and Support teams (CAST) in Richmond and Wandsworth have opportunities for full time Senior Social Worker roles.

This is an excellent opportunity to develop a career path into a management role.

This is a new front door service that aims to shift away from process - led intervention to a more dynamic - based practice model which places our clients at the very centre of all that we do.

The Community advice and Support team also carry out the Safeguarding Adults screening function for concerns raised into adult social care.

This is a great opportunity for experienced Social Workers looking to move up in their career and skilled Senior Social Workers who want to progress in their profession, expand their knowledge and use to advance into the future of Adult Health and Social Care.

Senior Social Workers support the management of the team to ensure the delivery of a high quality, timely and person-centred service, that values and promotes the independence and well-being of our residents and their carers.

The role will include providing regular formal supervision to Social Workers and Social Care Assessors. Co-ordination, oversight and clear decision making in managing incoming work and allocation of it is essential to this role. You will be a safeguarding adults manager (SAM) or willing to train as part of this role.

This is a busy team with a fast throughput of work, therefore excellent time management skills and the ability to manage your own caseload is essential.

The person interested in this post will:

  • Have a ‘can do’ attitude to work
  • Continuously seek better value for money while meeting resident’s outcomes at lower cost
  • Have the interests of residents and service users at heart, and ensuring they receive the highest standards of service provision
  • Take a team approach that values collaboration and partnership working
  • Have knowledge of current developments in relevant legislation, national guidance, and frameworks and how to access more detailed information when necessary, including the local authority’s responsibility to safeguard adults at risk
  • Be able to make rapid judgements, at times in emergencies

The role will require that the candidate has relevant qualification and experience in social care as well as being SWE registered.
