Service Manager (Children Looked After, Placement Support)

The Role

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated Service Manager, who has experience of managing teams. This new exciting position has arisen to support and develop the work of the Placement Support Provision for children looked after and care leavers, permanent placements other than immediate family and edge of care.

The Service Manager plays a key role in the management and running of the Placement Service, working with key partners and stakeholders to support the work of Children’s Services. The role requires knowledge, experience of safeguarding, managing change, supervision of staff and relevant legislation/statutory guidance.

The main role of the Service Manager will be to offer guidance to Team Managers, enabling them to support their staff and develop the service in line with statutory requirements and the key priorities of Children’s Services.

It will be expected that the Service Manager has a social work qualification and is registered with the HCPC.
