.About the role
We are responsible for the registration of births and deaths, marriage and civil partnership preliminaries, marriage and civil partnership registrations, citizenship ceremonies and other celebratory services.
An outstanding opportunity has arisen for Sessional Registration Officers to join our highly professional team and make a significant contribution to service delivery. You will work across Richmond and Wandsworth, delivering civil registration duties across our approved venues and in-house ceremony venues at York House and Wandsworth Town Hall playing a huge part of making history every day.
You will be able to remain calm and in control whilst enabling an enjoyable relaxed environment for events within a strict legal framework. You will deliver the right amount of gravitas for the occasion and inspire confidence and trust from couples, guests and colleagues.
We seek a highly professional, well-presented individual who can deliver a consistently high-quality service and operate in strict accordance with registration law and guidelines.
Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience
Workload Management- You will be able to work off your own initiative with the ability to manage your own workload.
Communication Skills- You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, you must be a confident public speaker, and be able to explain complex legislation simply and clearly.
IT Skills- You will be fully competent in ICT and an efficient administrator, you must be able to problem-solve and work on your own initiative.
Customer Service- We welcome applications from candidates who have relevant experience, excellent customer service skills, with an aptitude for dealing with people at some of the most important and emotionally heightened moments in their lives.
Location- You will be willing and able to work across both boroughs if required.
