The Supported Housing Service – have three strands which are: Sheltered Housing, comprising of 26 sheltered schemes in Battersea, Putney, Roehampton and Tooting. Tenancy Support Service for vulnerable clients who have difficulty maintaining their tenancy and Community Development.
About the role
As a Sheltered Housing Officer, your role will involve the day-to-day management of the sheltered housing schemes, offering support to vulnerable tenants, ensuring that the environment is safe, welcoming and well maintained.
- Provide support and guidance to tenants, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Managing the administration of the sheltered schemes, including record keeping.
- Respond to tenant queries and concerns, offering advice and assistance.
- Help maintain and improve the quality of the scheme environment.
- Work closely with other professionals and agencies to provide support to tenants.
Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- Knowledge and understanding of the aims of sheltered housing.
- Ability to write concise reports including the completion of Independence Plans and keep accurate records, both computer and written copies
- Experience of using IT applications including Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Experience of working within a team.
- Ability to travel and provide cover at various sheltered sites.
- Ability to undertake professional training – including CIH Level 3 in Housing Studies
