Job Title: South London Careers Hub – Strategic Lead

The South London Partnership are establishing the South London Careers Hub, part of a national network of Careers Hubs, designed to strengthen careers programmes and help young people make informed choices about their pathways into good jobs.
We are looking for an experienced and inspirational Strategic Lead with the skills to build and lead the south Careers Hub and drive sustainable system change in careers provision.
You will have demonstrable experience of leading and managing projects, effective strategic planning and building and developing collaborative and effective partnerships, preferably in the education and careers sector.
You will be responsible for creating the vision and setting out the direction and long-term strategy for the Careers Hub, with clearly defined and measurable outcomes, that responds to the needs of schools, colleges and businesses in south London. You will establish and embed robust systems and processes, so the Careers Hub drives effective and sustainable careers activities.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Build and implement a Careers Hub strategic plan that reflects local economic and skills priorities
- Lead, develop and retain a team of staff and volunteers from business, to deliver the aims, objectives and ambitions of the south London Careers Hub
- Engage and influence senior cross sector leaders and stakeholders to support the delivery Careers Hub in south London
As the driving force of the Careers Hub, you will lead in shaping and delivering a high-quality careers programme in south London. You will elevate the achievements of the Careers Hub, ensuring it is established as the beacon of best practice, able to influence policy and wider practice on careers across the region and nationally and that it helps to create the workforce of the future.
South London Partnership (SLP) is a small and dynamic, close knit team, working across the 5 boroughs of Croydon, Kingston, Merton, Richmond and Sutton. The SLP team focuses on areas where collaboration leads to increased influence, increased powers and funding and better delivery of the services our residents need.
