Special Educational Needs Teachers - Garratt Park

The Role

Required from April 2023 or September 2023

Are you driven to provide the best possible education for young people with special needs?

Are you an innovative, creative teacher with an interest in a range of subjects including Humanities and English?

We are looking for a SEND teacher to join us at Garratt Park. You may be an experienced teacher or ECT from a secondary, primary or special needs background.  You will need to be an excellent classroom practitioner who is able to deliver these subjects to students at different levels.  Humanities and English are taught across the school and are accredited at KS4 and KS5 through Entry Level Certificates, GCSE with excellent rates of progress for students in relation to their pathway. We are a small school, so the ability to teach other subjects would also be an advantage.  We have a supportive body of staff and can offer professional development opportunities for the right candidate.

Garratt Park School is a special school for children and young people aged 11-19 who have moderate learning difficulties, along with other special needs disabilities including Autism, SCLN, sensory impairments and a small number with more complex needs. We are situated in the inner London borough of Wandsworth and most of our students come from the local area, from diverse backgrounds with around one third entitled to free school meals.  Earlsfield is well served by public transport with easy access to the city centre.

Interested candidates are encouraged to visit our friendly and welcoming school. Please contact Janice Button at to arrange this.

An Application Form, Job Description and Person Specification can be downloaded below.

Completed application should be returned to the school either by email or by post.

Closing date: Monday 30th January 2023 (at Noon)
Interview date: Friday 3rd February 2023
Only short-listed applicants will be contacted

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
