Special School Support Assistant - Greenmead Primary School
32.5 hours per week
Term time only (39 weeks)
This is an Event Led contract to provide additional one to one support for a pupil while they are at Greenmead School.
We are looking for a Special School Support Assistant to provide support to pupils with a range of additional needs including learning difficulties, visual impairment and physical disabilities. The support will include attending to their individual care needs, (such as feeding, toileting and some medical procedures) and supporting classroom curriculum focused activities and integrated therapy and the use of alternative communication such as eye gaze, PECS, PODD and/or Makaton.
A commitment to Greenmead children and their complex needs is essential, plus the ability to work as part of a team. Greenmead is an outstanding primary school for children aged 2 – 11 years who have severe physical disabilities and associated communication and learning difficulties. Many of the children have additional complex medical needs.
You will be joining a supportive, enthusiastic and committed team. We are co-located with our mainstream neighbours, Ronald Ross Primary School, and we enjoy exciting opportunities for shared learning and play with them.
You will receive training to support you in your role and to further develop your professional expertise.
