Sports Centre’s Manager, Full-Time
PO3: Salary progression range £36,219 to £43,887pa

  • Then we need you to join the team and oversee the management of our 4 dual-use sports centres.

Where you’ll be working
This role will involve management of duties across 4 of the Borough's Sport & Fitness Centre. You’ll be expected to travel around the Borough as required and have the potential to work from any facility under the management of the service.

What you’ll be doing
You’ll manage the dual use Sport & Fitness Centres based at Hampton, Shene, Teddington and Whitton and work with internal and external partners to continually improve the service.

With direct supervision of up to 4 staff members, you’ll be developing your staff through 1-2-1, appraisals and team meetings.

Your workload will cover programming, finance, health & safety, marketing, quality assurance, facility development and staff management.

You’ll also be expected to step in and act as Duty Manager when required, getting involved in the day to day operations.

You’ll be responsible for the day to day management of Health and Safety compliance across the dual use sites. With particular emphasis on legislation, best practice and Council guidelines in relation to centre activities, facilities, staffing etc.

You will also assist with the development of IT systems, Richmond Card Scheme and quality assurance across the centres, to support the efficient delivery of the service.

What we’ll need from you
Good communication and organisational skills are essential for this role.

You must hold a suitable leisure or management qualification in order to apply for this role and we’re looking for someone with significant experience at management level within a leisure/fitness facility.

You’ll also need a thorough working knowledge of operational management of a sports / fitness centre, good knowledge of Health & Safety, and an understanding of Diversity and Equality in employment and provision of service.

You’ll be working 36 hours per week and flexibility will be required to work unsociable hours as the need arises.

What we can offer you
PO3: £36,219 to £43,887pa (salary progression range)
Starting salary is subject to qualifications and experience.
