Strategic Recruitment Manager

The Role

A Strategic Resourcing Manager vacancy has arisen at an exciting time for Richmond and Wandsworth Councils. With recruitment in a good place after huge improvements have been made to processes and systems, including being nationally recognised and awarded. Positive results have already been identified in the increase of successful campaigns and advances in internal and external reputation as well as employer presence in the market.

 

The recruitment team are now ready to continue to improve their approach and look to further increase the organisation’s ability to recruit and retain the best possible employees in new and innovative ways. The role of Strategic Resourcing Manager will be crucial to spearhead these improvements and provide leadership and support to the team of ten. Lead on executive and senior level recruitment which will also be a part of the role and will require an experienced recruiter with a track record of recruiting to executive appointments.

 

As the organisation’s main point of contact on Recruitment and Resourcing, in addition to the above, you will manage significant contracts, including the contract management of the master vendor supplier for agency workers, to ensure they work for the councils and deliver value for money.

 

A key part of the role will be to promote equity, diversity, and inclusion, playing a key role in this agenda to create and maintain a safe, supportive and welcoming environment where all people are treated with dignity and their identity and culture are valued and respected.

 

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Extensive experience of managing and developing a resourcing function within a complex organisation.
  • Experience of driving performance through evidence-based decision making.
  • Strong commitment to Equity, Diversity and Inclusion and how recruitment can create a more diverse workforce at all levels
  • Ability to develop and build long-term relationships with hiring managers at all levels
  • Experience and knowledge of working in a local authority or public sector organisation is desirable.
