Street Lighting Technical Administrator

Job Title: Street Lighting Technical Administrator 

Salary Range: Scale 6- SO1 £30,483-£39,933

Fixed Term : 24 months (2 Years) 

Location: Richmond and Wandsworth 

Hybrid working 

 

Objective of role  

The Street Lighting Team in  London Borough of Richmond Upon Thames and London Borough of Wandsworth maintain 40,000 street lighting assets across both Boroughs , Each street light has around 75 attributes stored on an asset register 

We require a technical administrator to capture and record data the  attributes of each  street lighting  asset and save them onto the street lighting asset register. 

The capture and recording of   street lighting  attributes  enables the efficient daily maintenance, repair and operation of the street lighting service. 

The job is office based however occasional site visits will be required for data collection. 

The post will also be required to process invoices for payment,  raise orders to the maintenance team, communicate effectively with members of the public.

The successful applicant will be well-organized, motivated, with a flexible approach to and everchanging working environment. You will be supporting a team or three  Engineers and working along side and existing Admin Post,   

This is a unique opportunity to assist a closely-knit team of Engineers and provide comprehensive day to day administrative and financial support for the street lighting team.

 

About the role 

Update the street lighting asset register and computer management system.

Record the installation of new street lights, and attachments while providing reports and statistical information.

Help to continue the efficient daily operation of the street lighting services.

Assist in the administration and payment of invoices on the council’s finance system.

Liaise and communicate with contractors, suppliers  and members of the public in writing and by telephone.

Provide post-meeting reports ensuring documents are distributed within the statutory timeframes. 

Provide routine daily administrative support 

Make site visits  to record  and capture details of attachments fixed onto  Council street lights 


Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience

You will need to be a good communicator and have confidence to deal with people at all levels

You will be capable to prioritise   your own work 

You will have excellent attention to detail 

You will have excellent administrative, written, numerical and analytical skills.

You will have good knowledge of excel or Microsoft Access database 

We are particularly looking for someone who can work on their own initiative to tight deadlines.

Be Confident to work outside   

Have an understanding of    procurement and invoicing procedures 

Qualifications- 5 GCSE A to C ( including Maths and English) or equivalent.
