The Role

Swim School Co-ordinators, Part-Time 18hrs
Richmond or Teddington
Starting salary of £15,477pa

  • Are you a friendly and confident communicator who enjoys working with a team of staff to provide a great community service?
     
  • Do you hold a sports/recreation/management qualification, as well as First Aid and Level 2 or higher UK recognised swim teacher qualifications?
     
  • Then we need you to run the Swim School programme at one of our Borough Pools in Teddington or Richmond.

Where you’ll be working
We have 2 positions to fill and you’ll join the team at one of the following pools:

  • Pools on the Park, Old Deer Park, Twickenham Road, Richmond TW9 2SF.
     
  • Teddington Pools & Fitness Centre, Vicarage Road, Teddington TW11 8EZ.

Both centres are open to the public 7 days a week from 6.30am to 10pm.

What you’ll be doing
You’ll be planning and developing a comprehensive swim school at your centre, overseeing the day to day lesson programming, booking process and income generation, ensuring a top quality service is maintained at all times.

With direct supervision of both permanent and casual staff, you’ll be developing your swim instructor team through 1-2-1s, appraisals and team meetings.

You’ll be assisting with the financial performance of the swim school. Using creative marketing and IT systems to increase income generation and retention.

You’ll also get “hands on” and be involved in day to day operations, monitoring health & safety, ensuring customers are kept in a safe and secure environment and that staff deliver great customer service, so that everyone has a good experience when they visit.

What we’ll need from you
Good communication and organisational skills are essential for this role.

You must have the following qualifications to be considered for this role:

  • Sports/recreation or management qualification.
  • First Aid qualification.
  • Level 2 or higher UK recognised swim teacher qualification (ASA, STA, SEQ).

We’re looking for someone with previous experience of working in a swim school programme/environment. You’ll also need good knowledge of Health & Safety issues and an understanding of Diversity and Equality in employment and provision of service.

You’ll be working 18 hours per week on a shift rota. Shifts will include a mixture of early mornings, evenings and Saturdays.

What we can offer you
Actual starting salary of £15,477pa.

(Salary progression range is £15,477 to £18,755pa).
