Teacher in Charge of the Willow Hearing Support Centre Based at Sellincourt Primary School


Teachers Pay Scale (Inner London Pay Scale) + (TLR2B + SEN1)


(An additional SEN point is available to applicants with recognised Mandatory Qualifications)

Are you a qualified teacher of deaf looking for your next challenge? Are you eager to develop and progress your career in the Teaching of Hearing Impaired students?  Then, apply to join Wandsworth Sensory Support Service as a Teacher in Charge of its Primary Hearing Support Centre (HSC). The provision can host up to 12 students of primary age (5 – 11) with various degrees of hearing impairment.

The Willow HSC supports early years and primary aged deaf children and is based within Sellincourt Primary School. The Centre has excellent facilities and resources and is part of a supportive and nurturing environment. It is managed by Wandsworth Sensory Support Service and as Teacher in Charge, you will work closely with the Head of Service and senior team to deliver the service vision. You will have line management responsibilities for two members of teaching staff and three members of support staff. The postholder can also access dedicated administration support.

The successful candidate will be passionate about teaching deaf children and maintaining high standards, placing children and their parents at the centre of all they do. Additionally, they will be skilled and experienced with the ability to lead and inspire teams. We use the Family Partnership Model and place high value on our work with parents.

This post would be particularly suitable for an experienced Teacher of the Deaf or a highly experienced SENDCO willing to undertake mandatory training.
