The Role

Required as soon as possible

Would you like the opportunity to work as part of a team of highly experienced and ambitious colleagues? Graveney is an extremely popular and successful 11-18 School, situated in South West London, SW17 with the benefit of being situated in beautiful campus style surroundings with excellent facilities and a warm community atmosphere. We have a commitment to providing the best opportunities to all students and to developing the professional skills and career opportunities of our staff, within a supportive and collaborative environment

At Graveney we are committed to delivering a broad and exciting curriculum to all of our students. We are a school with the highest aspirations and ensure exemplary standards of behaviour. We consistently achieve outstanding examination outcomes at both GCSE and A-Level, however we believe in far more than academic success. Our curriculum encompasses a full range of experiences that will develop the students into confident, resilient and successful young adults with the prospect of a great future. We believe that all students should learn the full range of subjects within Design Technology and therefore in Years 7 & 8 they will study Product Design, Graphics, Food & Textiles on carousel. In Year 9 all students are able to specialize in their preferred discipline to deepen their understanding and strengthen their skills in this area.

As a result of our dedicated team of experts, the high quality curriculum we provide and our outstanding facilities we regularly recruit well for both GCSE and A-Level classes. We are currently offering Product Design and Textiles in Years 10 – 13 and Food & Nutrition to Years 10 and 11.

We are proud of the products that our students create and these are showcased throughout the year at various school events. Students are regularly found in the workshops at lunchtime to finalise their designs and be part of the DT community. In addition to the taught curriculum we also run Robotics Club and we are the current holders of the prestigious Pi Wars international competition.

Applications are welcome from newly qualified and experienced teachers of Design Technology who have high standards, commitment, passion and the ability to teach across the full range of age and ability. We would welcome teachers of all disciplines.
