We require a committed and enthusiastic  teacher with good subject knowledge and a clear understanding of effective and engaging teaching and learning to join our highly successful department. The successful candidate will be expected to teach across the full range of age and ability.  The teacher we appoint will have access to high quality professional development opportunities. The contract will cover the entirety of the academic year. Full support would be given to ECTs.

The History and Politics department is a positive and supportive environment that employs a range of dynamic teaching styles and is committed to innovative curriculum development. The successful candidate will demonstrate an enthusiasm for teaching modern British and American History as well as History GCSE but prior knowledge of these topics and courses is not vital.

History is an extremely successful and popular subject at Graveney. Results at Key Stage 4 are generally above 90% 9 -1 and well above the National average. We currently run six classes in both Yr. 10 and Yr.11. History continues to be a popular subject in the sixth form with 5 sets in both years 12 and 13. Again, results are well above the national average at Key Stage 5. Many of our students go on to read History at university and we often have a number of successful Oxbridge candidates.
