Teacher of Music - Linden Lodge School

Teachers Pay Scale (Inner London Pay Scale) + SEN1 point (An additional SEN point is available to applicants with the Mandatory Qualification in Vision Impairment/Hearing Impairment/multisensory impairment)
Hours: Full Time or 0.8FTE

Linden Lodge School is a leading provider of education for visually-impaired children and young people aged 2 – 19 years. We are constantly building and growing our provision and an opportunity to join our skilled and highly motivated team as a Teacher of Music has become available.

This is an exciting time to join the school. In our most recent OFSTED, Leadership and Management was judged “outstanding” (January 2019) where “leaders’ expert knowledge and steadfast commitment to children have inspired them to continue their own professional journeys”. We have an impressive three acre campus in Wimbledon offering fabulous indoor and outdoor innovative facilities to support teaching and learning.

Our ideal candidate will be an innovative and motivated music teacher with experience of working with children and/or young people with special educational needs and ideally, a visual impairment. This post would suit an outstanding music teacher who would like to develop their skills in this field and to work with pupil’s and staff to provide engaging, experimental music sessions.

We are looking for a music teacher who:

• Can plan individually for pupils to meet a diverse range of needs from PMLD to gifted and talented pupils pursuing instrument studies up to Grade 8.
• Is able to demonstrate reflective practice to improve quality of teaching
• Is passionate about music and its contribution to developments and outcomes
• Works collaboratively and flexibly to meet the needs of the pupils.
