Start Date: 1st September 2024

Are you a dynamic and inspirational teacher?

Saint Cecilia’s Church of England School is a successful and over-subscribed non-selective school, with an excellent reputation, located in South-West London.

We are looking for an inspirational and effective Teacher of Religious Studies, who is keen to join a successful and dedicated department.  Religious Studies is highly valued at Saint Cecilia’s, with all pupils studying the subject at GCSE, and a significant proportion continuing to study the subject at A-Level. During our most recent SIAMS inspection (2016), we were graded as Outstanding in all areas.

We welcome applications from experienced RS teachers and Early Career Teachers.

The successful applicant will be joining a school community that places the continual professional development of staff via collaboration underpinned by educational research at the heart of all that we do.

Located close to Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Club, Saint Cecilia’s is well connected to central London and the West End, as well as the tranquil Surrey countryside, by exceptional transport links. The school lies within the Inner London Weighting area, which adds a significant increase to salary.

Saint Cecilia’s is a vibrant school of just over 1000 pupils with a thriving academic Sixth Form. A caring Christian community, together with a close-knit team of dedicated teaching and support staff, have achieved excellent academic success.

Whilst candidates must be in sympathy with the aims of a voluntary-aided Church of England school, a Christian commitment is not essential for this post.

In 2022, the school maintained its position as one of the highest performing schools in the London Borough of Wandsworth. Despite the national drop in results for 22/23, the school continued to perform well.

At GCSE:

    Overall progress 8 was +0.18

88% of pupils achieved 9-4 grades in English and 77% achieved 9-4 grades

in Maths.

56% of pupils achieved 9-5 grades in Religious Studies

At A Level:

Average grade of a B in Philosophy and Ethics

Many leavers gain places at prestigious Russell Group Universities, including Oxbridge.

Are you ready to join a team of dedicated teachers, in a Good school which aspires to be Great?

Are you ready to contribute towards a Great Curriculum, establish Great Learning and build a culture of Great Professionalism and Great Partnerships, all in a caring, supportive Christian Ethos?
