Teacher/Senior Leader (i/c English and Maths) - Francis Barber Pupil Referral Unit

The Role

One-year fixed term contract

Francis Barber PRU wishes to appoint a Teacher to the post of Senior Leader on a one-year fixed term contract to lead the subject of English and Mathematics during a transitionary period. The postholder will work across both main PRU sites and will teach within these subject areas as well as providing leadership for Literacy across the PRU.

The Senior leader will work with the Headteacher and the Heads of School at Tooting and Westdean to provide vision, leadership and direction for the continuing improvement of the whole PRU. The Heads Team supports all the schools in the borough to reduce permanent exclusions by flexibly responding to the needs of challenging young people.

Francis Barber is a large, friendly and inclusive PRU that prides itself on helping the young people it works with to achieve their full potential.  It is also a complex PRU, catering for a number of specific groups of young people. OFSTED rated the PRU as ‘good’ with ‘outstanding’ features in 2013, commenting that ‘For many, Francis Barber provides life-changing experiences’.
