Teaching Assistant - Furzedown Primary School

The Role

We are looking for a Teaching Assistant who will:

  • Work collaboratively with class teachers to support pupils' learning and development.
  • Promote independence, self-esteem, and inclusion for all children.
  • Provide tailored support to individuals and groups, including children with SEND.
  • Help prepare learning environments and contribute to planning and assessment.
  • Support behaviour management and promote a safe, positive atmosphere.
  • Take part in wider school life, including extracurricular and enrichment activities.

This is a full-time, term-time only position. The successful candidate may be required to support learning in class/es, on a one-to-one basis, or in small group interventions.

  • We are looking for someone who:
  • Has experience working with children or in an educational setting.
  • Demonstrates empathy, flexibility, and a commitment to inclusion.
  • Can build positive relationships with pupils and colleagues.
  • Has good literacy, numeracy, and ICT skills.
  • Understands the importance of safeguarding and professional conduct.
  • Is enthusiastic, motivated, and eager to make a difference.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of GCSE Grade 4 (C) in English and Maths (or equivalent).
  • First Aid training is desirable (or willingness to complete it).
